ABOUT Erica M. Szuplat - Illustrator and Designer

After studying painting and drawing at several institutions, including The Art Institute of Boston and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), I received my degree in Interdisciplinary Art from Lesley University. I currently create art for a variety of uses and truly enjoy working closely with clients to bring to life their vision in my own bright and lively style. My commercial design work includes digital logos, business cards and hand painted signage. I create paintings and drawings, and accept commissions, in a variety of media- pen and watercolor, charcoal, oil and acrylic. I also design and paint both commercial and residential murals.

I just love creating custom illustration and designs for events. All of my illustrations are completely original and tailored to the particulars of the client's project. Whether the subject is a family member, friend or family pet, I strive to convey a likeness of the subject in cartoon with accompanying personalized details. Once created, these custom illustrations can be printed on paper goods such as invitations, RSVP cards or thank you notes. I have also created designs for t-shirts, gift tags or CD art for party favors. Framed copies of the illustrations make special keepsakes.

As an artist based in Falmouth, MA, on Cape Cod, I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful community. I am a member of and have instructed children's drawing at the Falmouth Artists Guild and have volunteered my time in the Falmouth public school system assisting the art teacher, with ArtsFalmouth and the Falmouth Cultural Council. I have been fortunate to have been part of a team of artists who have created two public mosaic murals in Falmouth.

In addition, I assist my husband, photographer ben allsup, of benshotme.com, particularly as publisher of benshotme "the magazine," featuring ben's photography, our own and guest essays.
