ABOUT
MAUREEN TRACY PATROLIA - Freelance Illustrator
I graduated from U-Mass Dartmouth in 1988 with a BFA in illustration.
I continued my education and art experience at the Rhode Island
School of Design and with many regional artist organizations.
I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and
Illustrators (SCBWI) and have made many friends through SCBWI
critique groups and conferences.
In 1997, I began drawing and painting on commission. This
work has consisted mainly of children's portraits, but also
includes pet and house portraits, and wedding portraits/programs.
In 2001 I had my first publication. In Sensory Motor
Activities for the Young Child, I completed 48 illustrations
of children participating in various activities (in b/w pencil)
for Imaginart, Inc. I enjoyed the project greatly as I am
also a pre-kindergarten teacher and am constantly inspired
by my young students and family members and was able to portray
many in this book.
Later in 2001, I completed a cover illustration also for
Imaginart. My black and white drawings can be seen in the
First Facts Book of Sex & Babies published by
Magination Press, Fall 2002.
My husband and I live with our family and mischievous dogs
in Plymouth, MA.
